Our STEP House is a transitional living program created to empower women and their children as they move forward from halfway houses, sober living arrangements, or residential treatment programs into independent community life.

What We Offer
We provide affordable, stable, and substance-free housing designed to support long-term success. Our holistic approach meets residents where they are, offering:
• Case management to guide personal and family progress
• Financial education for budgeting and independence
• Support for personal and professional goals
• Parenting and recovery services, including our Strengthening Families class

Housing units vary in size and may accommodate two to four families, depending on availability and room configuration.

Who We Serve
While our STEP House offers meaningful support, it may not be the right fit for everyone. Admission is determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account eligibility criteria and thoughtful review of each application to ensure alignment with the needs of both the applicant and our community.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the STEP program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Adult status: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Recovery background: Completion of a structured recovery program (e.g., residential treatment) is required.
  • Substance-free living: Must maintain sobriety from alcohol, non-prescribed substances, and any legal substances that could result in a failed drug screen. At least one year of sobriety from non-prescribed substances is required.
  • Safe history: Children in the household must demonstrate safe and non-aggressive behavior.
  • Household composition: Visiting children may be any age, but overnight stays are limited to those 10 and under.
  • Income verification: Must be employed and able to provide the two most recent pay stubs.
  • Documentation: Relevant legal documents related to household status must be submitted and kept on file.

Once you submit your application, our team will review it and reach out to you within 48 business hours.
